 Learning Outcomes

  1. Understanding of the neurophysiology of Chronic pain, including Peripheral and Central sensitisation

  2. Anatomy of pelvic floor, abdominal wall, fascial lines and female genital anatomy.

  3. Understanding of anatomy of female sexual organs and their role in pleasure. 

  4. Understanding of the following conditions, vulvodynia, Genito pelvic pain/penetration disorder, including vaginismus and dyspareunia, pudendal neuralgia and endometriosis.

  5. Common comorbidities associated with pelvic pain.

  6. Understand the pelvic floor's role in each of the above conditions. 

  7. Understand any lifestyle factors and whole body biomechanical strains that can impact on patients pain experience

  8. Learn a variety of external techniques to help in the management of pelvic pain

  9. Understanding of the TENS machine and how it is used in the treatment of pain conditions 

  10. Understand Medical treatment for pelvic pain conditions 

  11. Develop confidence in a range of management techniques to help your patient manage and reduce intensity of flares, breath work, dilators, pelvis wands, yoga / mindful mobility, myofascial self release techniques  

  12. Develop a whole-person clinical management framework for the management of  pelvic pain.

  13. Develop evidence-based treatment plans and progressive clinical goals for female pelvic pain
